Invictus Team Ukraine Gala (2025)
UCAG partnered with Team Ukraine to host an unforgettable gala at Vancouver’s iconic Seaforth Armoury. In co-operation with the Canadian Forces who generously provided this historic location, UCAG raised over $100,000 for adaptive sport and our children’s recovery programs. The event supported psychological stabilization for 40 children in Ukraine and welcomed 250 guests from Vancouver, Canada, and abroad. The collaboration between UCAG and Team Ukraine continues, with athletes visiting our program and working directly with the children.

VARTA: The Price of Ukrainian Resistance (Fall 2024)
A one-day exhibition at the Vancouver Public Library featured 65 striking wartime posters by Ukrainian artists, curated by UCAG’s Iryna Kalantai. The event drew 300 attendees and raised $3,000 for UCAG’s recovery program. The exhibition continues to tour.

Holodomor Memorial (2022)
This commemoration drew record-breaking attendance, including local politicians and non-Ukrainian community members. Highlights included:
Speeches from civic leaders such as Peter D. Meiszner (Vancouver City Councillor), Bruce Ralston (Minister of Energy, Mines & Petroleum), Anne Kang (Minister of Advanced Education), and others.
Exhibitions including Taste of Holodomor, Bread, and Russia’s Modern Weaponization of Food.

YVR Screen Scene for Ukraine Gala (2023)
In partnership with YVR Screen Scene, UCAG hosted a gala screening of the Ukrainian film Viddana, followed by a talkback with filmmaker Krystyna Syvolap. The evening included an auction, raising $40,500 for our children’s recovery program.

New Lives, Same People (2022)
An exhibition at The Beaumont Studios, following its debut in Germany, showcased the “before” and “after” lives of Ukrainians displaced by Russia’s full-scale invasion. The exhibition highlighted personal stories of resilience and was made possible with support from United Way BC’s United for Ukraine Local Love Fund.

Independence Day Human Chains (2025, 2024, 2023)
Now an annual tradition, UCAG organized massive human chains on Vancouver’s Burrard Bridge. In 2024 and 2025, the event featured a 550-meter Ukrainian flag ribbon, created by Olena Krevenets, uniting the community in a powerful show of pride and solidarity.

Surrey Fusion Festival (2022, 2023)
UCAG hosted the award winning Ukraine pavilion in both years, and in 2023 successfully advocated for the removal of the Russian pavilion.

War in Living Colour (2022)
A one-night pop-up at ALSO The Kent Gallery showcased Ukrainian wartime illustrations by the Pictoric artist collective from Kyiv. The exhibition raised $8,000 for UCAG’s recovery program.ption goes here

Black Ribbon Day (2023)
UCAG co-organized Black Ribbon Day alongside Canadian and Eastern European partner organizations. UCAG VP Adrian Petriw spoke at the event, which commemorates the victims of Nazism and Communism on the anniversary of the Molotov–Ribbentrop Pact.

Emergency Rallies (2022-Present)
UCAG mobilized quickly to organize rallies in response to urgent crises, including the destruction of the Kakhovka Dam and the bombing of Okhmadyt Children’s Hospital. These events gave the community a space for grief, solidarity, and calls to action.

Carol of the Bells: A Ukrainian Christmas in Music
An annual, elegant evening of music which has raised tens of thousands of dollars for UCAG’s recovery program, stabilizing traumatized children in Ukraine. The concerts have also raised funds for FPV drones and collected hundreds of toys for war-affected children.
